Countdown to Coachella: 15 Days

It's that time of the year again--FESTIVAL SEASON! I live for festivals and now that SXSW is over, my next and most favorite music festival of all is upon us April 15, 16, and 17 in Indio, California--COACHELLA! Bands will continue to add to the line-up, and I am on the edge of my seat to see the last minute acts.

This year already appears to be a little different from last year, with the smaller amount of tickets being released, making it a complete sell-out within a week. The new high security wristband 3-day-only passes are going to make things quite interesting for pedestrians and attempted crashers with the new high security wristbands, as there will be security checks up to 1 mile around the perimeter. Meaning if you don't have a pass, you can't even get close this year. There are also some cool new promotions floating around, including H&M's Conscious Bus. Sign up for your chance to win a ride from LA to Coachella and back here.
In case you are still itching for tickets, there are still some online opportunities, but be prepared for quite a mark-up. Gilt City and Stub Hub are offering tickets well above %300 face value.

If you were smart and got your tickets right away, I will see you there. Below is the Coachella Grounds Legend to help you map out your journey. My must-see list is: Empire of the Sun, Robyn, Crystal Castles, Cut Copy, Two Door Cinema Club, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, CSS, and Foster the People.

San Diego Weekend

Shock Top on a boat in the San Diego harbor? Yes, please.

NYLON Party at Tru Hollywood

It was a team outing as most of our company plus Taryn Ryder attended the NYLON party celebrating the chicks of the new film Sucker Punch at Hollywood's newest nightclub, Tru Hollywood.
Jenn and Johnny Strange
Jenn and Kristin
Me and Jenn
Jenn and Joyce. Jenn doesn't need for anyone to pay attention, not even who she is dancing with; she will still have a good time. What a fun night!

Happy Monday, Indeed!

Exhausted from SXSW, I thought this Monday would suck. But my friends over at EMI made my day by sending over the EP from Sky Ferreira in the mail! One, I love mail. Two, I love Sky. I've had my eye on her for years now, so good call, EMI. And thanks for making my Monday!

SXSW Day 3: Kanye West, Jay Z, Kid Cudi, John Legend, Bon Iver, etc

My client VEVO took over the Austin Power Plant for a 2500+ person party with Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. Artists (his record label). By Saturday night, the power plant turned into the VEVO Power Station for the most extravagant event Austin has probably ever seen.
Oh, and the Supermoon was out in full effect over Austin.
The entire roster of performers in ski masks open the show with Mos Def on the old fashioned mic.
Pusha T
Kid Cudi
Kanye West
John Legend and Kanye West
Kanye West plus a marching band
And a surprise performance by....Jay Z!
Justin Vernon, front man of Bon Iver--my personal favorite artist there
Finale including Big Sean and Mr Hudson! What a show!
On the way back to LA the following day, I noticed my combat boots had picked up quite a bit of Austin dirt. I think I'll keep it.

SXSW Day 2: OMD, Moby, The Kills, TV on the Radio

The second day of SXSW started out with catching shows at the SPIN party at Stubbs.
OMD rocked the stage and "If You Leave" brought the whole crowd feeling like they were at high school prom again.
Then Moby came out and played guitar for a few of OMD's songs. I am a huge fan of his so this was a great moment!
The Kills rocked the stage until sound problems caused them to get a little aggravated. Oops?

Alison Mosshart, singer of The Kills
Jamie Hince, British guitarist of The Kills.
Skrillex aka Sonny Moore aka former frontman of From First to Last headlined the DJ sets at the SPIN event.
Yo Gabba Gabba event made an appearance.
TV on the Radio headlined the daytime event with a new Sexy Jesus-lookalike trombone player addition to cover Gerrard Smith who is reportedly battling lung cancer.
Tunde Adebimpe is the TV on the Radio frontman who killed it. Best performance of the day. I invited these guys to our VEVO event on Saturday night, and I don't think they could have had more fun. In the barrage of text messages I received that night, my favorite was from TV on the Radio Dave Sitek: "Hey page, its dave sitek (tv on the radio) can I park my VESPA by VIP entrance?" Haha. I love a hipster rocker on a Vespa. Great day for music in Austin.

SXSW Day 1: Bar-Hopping and B.o.B.

My first time to the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX!
These are actual cocktail glasses at this bar on 6th. I love drinking out of a pitcher with a straw. I guess things really are bigger in Texas.
6th Street at SXSW = Mardi Gras + Spring Break

We found this guy in an alley. I liked his tomato sweater.
Music literally on 6th Street. We enjoyed these guys play a song or two amidst a girl fight happening on the street. I got it on video, too bad it won't load on here.

Then we headed over to the BET event to see B.o.B. perform!

Party Bus Strip Club Crawl...Seriously.

When Alexis asked me, "Page, what should we do to for my birthday weekend?," I had one legendary idea in mind -- Party Bus Strip Club Crawl."

Before the madness began, a few photos were taken. These are some of those photos. What happened after these photos will remain in the strictest confidence of all who attended.

What a night.
